Our mentee team applications for Project Vietnam 2013 are now open.

SELECTION PROCESS

1. First round: 15th April - 19th May, 2013, filling out the application online

2. Second round: 20th May - 31st May, 2013, ONLINE interview, applicants who are accepted to the second round will be notified via email.

3. The final decision will be made on 1st June.



*Note: Our project uses English as the main language for communication between mentors and mentees, hence we ask our mentee applicants to fill out their applications in English and note that the ONLINE interviews will also be conducted in English.

ELIGIBILITY



  • Is currently a graduating high school student or a college student in Vietnam
  • Will be available to participate in the project from 3rd - 18th August, 2013.

 

 

TEAM MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY

 

As with all SEALNet projects, all team members are expected to take a personal stake in the project. Team members of Project Vietnam 2013 are expected to:

  •     Fully participate in all activities during 2 week of our project
  •     Contribute to the team’s fundraising effort
  •     Involve in planning process, including coordinating with local partners, designing leadership workshops and art activities for the project
  •     Be active and positive to reach out to share and help other people in the team as well as PWDs

DESIRED QUALITIES



We are seeking college students from around the world, with different backgrounds and experiences to join our team. The following qualities are desirable to all team members:

  •     Interested in working on disability issues; previous experiences with working on disability issues are preferred (but not compulsory)
  •     Previous experience with art/performance is a plus
  •     Enthusiastic in both service and leadership
  •     Willingness to understand and form strong relationships
  •     Open-minded to and willing to collaborate with others, especially people with disabilities
  •     Strong commitment and goal-oriented
  •     Good problem solving skills
  •     Willingness to step out of comfort zone
  •     Can “say yes before knowing how’’
